NSW: Mother of two stabbed dead in front of her Sydney home

SYDNEY, Aug 1 AAP - A woman was stabbed to death outside her south western Sydney home this
morning as her two children slept inside.

Police said the 27-year-old woman had suffered a single wound to the chest in the 2am
attack on Monro Street in Sefton.

A man was found in a nearby street with deep cuts to his hands, which police say he
sustained when smashing the glass door of the woman's home.

It was not known if the man, whose age has not been released, was known to the family of
three.

He is under police guard in Bankstown Hospital today, waiting to undergo surgery on his
hands.

The children, whose ages and gender have not been released, were uninjured.

It was believed the man confronted the woman at her home and she ran onto the street.

The children were being cared for by family friends today, police said.
