Fed: National Gallery and Library job cuts planned
Job losses are on the agenda for two of the nation's major art institutions in 2003.
The National Library of Australia and the National Gallery have confirmed they arein talks over staffing levels, but refuse to speculate on the number of staff involved.
Acting federal opposition arts spokesman BOB MCMULLAN says both institutions alreadyrun on very tight budgets.
He says the reported cuts will severely undermine their capacity to deliver importantcultural services.
