Broadband 'a rip-off'.(News)

INTERNET users in Ireland are being ripped-off when it comes to paying for broadband.

A study found that people here are currently paying the highest prices in Europe.

It was discovered that the average broadband package, for a 2Mb-8Mb speed, costs consumers over EUR70 a month.

But across the rest of EU the average cost is just EUR34.10.

The figures are from the European Broadband Tariff's Database and were compiled over the final quarter of last year.
